5/6: Beats PCLC in wicked BRAVEHEART.

1-1 at the half
4-4 final
5-1 after breaveheart

This was one for the record books.

We were up 4-3 with about 30 secs to go and they scored.

A braveheart was set for the tiebreaker.

This was a one pressure cooker of a braveheart (M:Holden Catlett, G:Brooks Dutton)
*Illegal procedure on faceoff by PCLC
*PCLC had a slash
*Therefore we got a free clear (headstart)
*We missed the goal
*PCLC goalie and middie brought it up, but then the goalie went over the midfield line
*Then guess, yes another free clear (headstart)
*This time we drove it home.

Congrats to all on the 5/6 squad for a very exciting game. Also much respect to PCLC for a well played game.

Note to self - practice bravehearts at practice and memorize the rules ;-)

HS: Beats Puyallup

6-2 at halftime
11-2 final

5/6: Beats Snohomish

11-0 at halftime
15-1 final

7/8: Beats Northshore

5-0 final

Congrats to the defense on the shutout.
Offense did a great job, many more shots on goal.

Now comes the hard part, how to keep the boys amused for 24 hours until their next game?

Makes you appreciate Portland ...

Weather is better than Seattle, traffic is better than Seattle...

Struggled through the Tacoma traffic, made it to the tent at 4:45.

Just in time to get poured on! Last year it was 90 degrees up here.

But it was good weather for lacrosse. All the boys won.

HS : 5-2 v Issaquah Gold
7/8: 6-5 v Lake Tapps Red
5/6: 11-3 v Lake Tapps White

Battle Of Bothell 2009

Well the LO tribe is on it's way north again for the annual Battle Of Bothell.

It should be lots of fun, we've had a great season of rec and select play and all the boys are on top of their game.

Happiness is a full day blocked off your work calendar as "Unavailable".

I'm looking for volunteers selecting images and helping photographers upload to the various album sites we will link to.

Tonight is the night to pack. See you all at Buca di Beppo tomorrow night.

Dinner with wolfpack lacrosse

Great dinner with new friends...

overheard at random ... "we're talking to CALIFORNIA girls"

Final score 5 - 5

We were 4-1 at the half.

The Diablo Scorpion's (the champions from last year) came back strong and tied us at the end.

They had several strong players and a strong goalie.

Strong start sweet stick check leads to score by johnson

10 - 5 final score!

Skyline was a good team. They came out strong after the half and scored 3 unanswered goals. LO came back with some great hustle and finished on top.

Refs were good, called a tight game. It was moderately physical.

Before ...

... and after the save.

6 to zip @ half time. Good job!

Cutting hard.

Warming up...

Boys look good. Weather is perfect. Other teams look good, but beatable.

Pregame ritual.Frank is warmed up too.

View from the field

Wonderful venue, great view, cool breeze off the bay.

Great meal

Patti knows how to pick a good restaurant.

(mutinous "we want pizza" rebellion was quickly squashed). You are what you eat, the athletes had chicken, salad and pasta

Arrived safe and sound ...

Parents: remember when they were small ? We used to call this "parallel play".
Boys: I wonder who has the smallest/coolest/retro phone/console?

It kept the 40 minutes in the airport pretty quiet.

Getting ready to go ...

Parents: Bags packed yet? Ready to go? Conference calls canceled? Who's picking them up from school?

Boys: Test at school today? Triple check your gear. Don't have your parents looking for pads.

All: relax, enjoy. Watching the boys at practice has been a blast. Their level of play is impressive. This tournament will give them some great experiences and the season hasn't even started yet.

More later ( got to get on that conference call )
